Do You Have a DMO?
All the most successful marketers have DMOs (Daily Methods of Operation).
A lot of people spend a lot of time where they think they are working on their business, but actually, they have been checking emails, surfing Facebook, BUYING products and basically procrastinating.
Nothing they have done has actually brought them any closer to their goal.
Here are 5 things you should do:
1. Educate Yourself
It is important to spend a short time each day actually learning something new. It might be some SEO tricks, or some Copywriting skills, or maybe how to make a video. Whatever it is – pick one thing that you need to learn and spend some time on it. Not too long – you have 4 other things to do.
2. Create Some Content
Successful people are authorities. They are ALL OVER the internet. This is because they are consistent in their creation of content. They make a blog post, or email their list, or make a video, or comment in a forum, or add to an ebook they are writing, or upload a podcast etc. EVERY DAY – they make some content. This level of PRODUCTION helps take them forward.
3. Share Your Content (Syndication)
Successful marketers ALWAYS share their content. Get it out there into Social Media. Get it into as many places as possible – Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+. The more the better. Also, you should email your list and tell them about your new content. If you do not have a list – start to build one. Guru Strike Back will tell you how to go about it. 4. Engage in Active Marketing
The more content you have out there, the more people will be engaging in your content and making comments (+ likes). It is your business to contact these people and follow them up. You do not need to be aggressive. Simply contact them and say, “Hey, I saw you on my blog (or Video thread etc.). Thanks for the taking the time to stop by. If there is anything I can do to help you with your business, shoot me an email here… or message me on FB/skype here…’. These people will value being reached out to by someone who asks them if they want help – NOT offers them another product. Nevertheless, once you have the connection – you will have some warm contact who will WANT to buy your products. You just need to find out what their needs are and then find the product to match.
5. Buy Some Traffic to Get Visitors to Your Offers
OK. You may not have any money yet. Sure. That is fine.
BUT, if you can – you will find that this will REALLY scale up your business. It gives you things to create content about. It gives you more to share. It brings more people to you for the active marketing connections. You should always invest 20% at least of your profits into paid marketing. Personally, I invested ALL my profits back into paid marketing for the first six months at least. This way, you continue to break even, but your business is growing. This is because the paid traffic generates more leads each month and this grows exponentially when tied in with the other tasks already mentioned.
Suddenly, you find that your income is substantial.
It takes 21 days to develop a habit and 10,000 to become a master of a skill. You need to make it your goal to develop the habit of doing these tasks daily. In time, you will become a master.
This is what makes people into Gurus. Dedication and focus to daily tasks which are productive and serve their business. Cut out your procrastination and take positive action.
